Last month my chachu called me from his shop — his Telenor balance had died right in the middle of an important call, and the nearest easyload shop was a fifteen-minute walk away. I laughed, told him to sit tight, and recharged his number from my couch in under two minutes. He thought I’d performed…
Few things are more annoying than glancing at your phone and seeing “Emergency Calls Only” where your signal bars should be. It always seems to happen at the worst moment — you’re waiting for an important call, or you’re out somewhere unfamiliar and suddenly your phone is half a phone. The good news: in most…
Last week I was in the middle of lunch when my phone rang from an unknown number. “Assalam-o-Alaikum, aap ne 5 lakh ka inaam jeeta hai,” the voice said, followed by a request for my bank details to “release” the prize. I hung up, blocked the number, and went back to my daal — but…
Last month, a cousin of mine borrowed my phone for “two minutes” to check something on WhatsApp. Nothing bad happened, but later it hit me — if someone opens your My Telenor App on your unlocked phone, they can see your balance, spend your coins, and even activate bundles on your number. Two minutes is…
You know that message that pops up right in the middle of your screen — no notification shade, no warning — and refuses to go away until you tap something? That’s flash SMS. On a Telenor SIM it usually shows up as a promo or service alert, and honestly, it picks the worst possible moments….
Last month I helped a cousin shortlist a flat in Bahria Town, and his first question to the property agent wasn’t about the rent or the water timing. It was: “Bhai, Telenor ke signals aate hain yahan?” The agent laughed. But honestly, it’s not a silly question at all. If you’ve ever stood in a…
I still remember the first time I saw a Telenor postpaid bill in a friend’s drawer — he had no idea the due date had passed, and his line was restricted right in the middle of a work call. Honestly, that’s how most people learn about bill payment: the hard way. The good news is…
You load Rs 100 in the morning, and by evening half of it is gone — even though you barely used your phone. Sound familiar? Nine times out of ten, the culprit is a bundle that renewed itself at midnight. Telenor’s recurring bundles come with auto-renewal switched on by default, which is great when you…
My cousin spent 22 minutes on hold with 345 last month just to ask how many MBs were left on his bundle. Twenty-two minutes. For a question his phone could have answered in ten seconds. That phone call is the reason this comparison exists. Most of us reach for the wrong tool out of habit….
There’s a special kind of frustration that hits when you’ve called the helpline three times, re-explained your problem to three different agents, and still nothing has changed. At that point, it helps to know that Telenor isn’t the last door you can knock on — the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, PTA, runs a proper complaint system…
