Telenor Balance Check Code: *444# and All Methods

The short answer: dial *444#

A few days ago I recharged my Telenor SIM, made two quick calls, and then spent the next hour wondering if I still had enough balance for the ride home. We have all been there — balance ka andaza lagana, and always getting it wrong.

The official Telenor balance check code is *444#. It works on every prepaid SIM, needs no internet, and your balance flashes on the screen in a couple of seconds. Here is exactly what to do:

  1. Open the dial pad on your phone.
  2. Type *444# exactly as shown.
  3. Press the call button.
  4. Your remaining balance appears on the screen almost instantly.

One thing to know: every check costs around Rs. 0.24 + tax. It is a small amount, but it adds up if you are the type who checks balance five times a day (no judgment — I used to do the same). Once a day is plenty.

More Telenor USSD codes worth saving

Balance is only half the picture. Running out of MBs in the middle of a WhatsApp call is somehow worse. These codes all work the same way — dial, press call, done — so save them in your contacts:

  • *999# — check your remaining internet MBs. If you want the full walkthrough, here is how to check your remaining MBs in detail.
  • *222# — check remaining call minutes.
  • *111# — check remaining SMS.
  • *123# — full account information in one go.

Out of these, *123# is my personal favourite. One dial and you see balance, package status and expiry — no need to remember four different codes when you are in a hurry.

Free method: check balance on the My Telenor App

Would you rather not pay Rs. 0.24 every single time? Fair enough. The My Telenor App shows your balance, remaining MBs, minutes and SMS right on the home screen after you log in — completely free, no USSD charge at all, and it updates in real time.

  1. Install My Telenor App from the Play Store or App Store.
  2. Log in with your Telenor number. Not sure which number is in your phone? Here is how to find your own Telenor number first.
  3. The moment the home screen opens, your balance is right there at the top, with your bundles listed below it.

Honestly, if you check your balance more than once a day, the app is the smarter habit. One login, zero per-check charges, plus you get bundle offers and discounts that never appear on USSD menus. It is also the only method here that works over Wi-Fi when your SIM signal is weak — handy when you are travelling.

Code not working? Try this first

USSD codes are simple, but they do fail sometimes. Before you panic, run through this list:

  • Type *444# again carefully — one wrong digit and you get nothing.
  • Make sure your SIM is active and you have signal. No signals, no USSD.
  • Restart your phone if the menu freezes. It fixes more than you would expect.
  • Try again after a few minutes — the network occasionally has a slow hour.
  • Still stuck? Call the Telenor helpline at 345 and they will check it for you.

And one more thing worth checking: if your balance keeps shrinking even though you barely call anyone, something in the background might be eating it. Quietly renewing subscriptions are the usual suspect — here is how to stop unwanted subscriptions and keep your balance where it belongs.

A small habit that saves real money

Here is a routine that actually works: check your balance once in the morning with the app (free), and only use *444# when you are out without mobile data. That way you always know where you stand, and you are not paying Rs. 0.24 + tax out of pure curiosity.

Also, get into the habit of checking right after you recharge. If the balance on the screen does not match what you paid for, you will catch the problem on day one instead of discovering it a week later when your package suddenly “expiry” ho jata hai. And if the numbers ever confuse you — MBs versus balance versus validity — the app lays it all out in plain language, which is half the reason I recommend it to family.

Bonus: win free MBs with the daily quiz

Since you are already thinking about your balance, here is a way to stretch it. Our daily Telenor quiz gives you five quick questions every day, and you can win free MBs for playing. Two minutes of your time, zero cost, and the MBs land in your account. Not a bad trade for your morning chai break — and every MB you win is one you do not have to buy.

So that is the full picture: *444# for a five-second balance check, the My Telenor App when you want it free, and *999#, *222#, *111# and *123# for everything else. Save the codes in your contacts once and you will never have to search for the telenor balance check code again. Future you — standing at a dhaba with 3% battery — will say shukriya.
