My Telenor App Login Problems: Fixes That Work

You open the app, type your number, and then… nothing. The OTP never arrives, the screen keeps loading, or the app just crashes before you even get in. If that sounds like your morning, you’re not alone — login trouble is probably the most complained-about thing about the My Telenor App, right after slow internet.

Here’s the thing though: nine times out of ten, it’s not your phone’s fault. It’s a small fix. Below are the fixes that actually work, in the order you should try them.

1. The OTP never arrives

This is the big one. You tap “send code” and wait, and wait, and nothing shows up. Before you do anything fancy, check these basics.

First, make sure the SIM you’re trying to log in with is actually in the phone — and active. Sounds obvious, but plenty of people try to log in with a SIM that’s sitting in a drawer, or one whose number has expired. If the SIM has no network signal, the code has nowhere to go.

Second, give it two full minutes. OTPs in Pakistan sometimes arrive in bursts, and tapping “resend” ten times in a row can confuse things. One tap, then wait.

Third, check your SMS inbox storage. If your messages are full — yes, that still happens — new texts can fail to land. Delete old promotional messages (you know the ones) and try again.

If it’s been five minutes and still nothing, the nuclear option that works surprisingly often: restart your phone. A fresh network registration usually clears whatever got stuck.

2. Wrong number format headaches

A surprisingly common mistake: entering the number in the wrong format. The app wants your full mobile number, starting with 03, all eleven digits. Don’t add a country code, don’t add dashes, don’t add spaces. Just 03441234567, exactly as it is. One extra digit and the system won’t recognize you.

Also worth checking — if you recently changed phones, make sure you’re typing the number of the SIM that’s actually in this device.

3. App freezes or crashes at login

Older versions of the app are buggy, plain and simple. Go to the Play Store or App Store and check for an update before you tear your hair out. Telenor pushes fixes regularly, and an outdated version is the cause of most crash reports.

If you’re already on the latest version and it still crashes, clear the app’s cache. On Android: Settings → Apps → My Telenor App → Storage → Clear Cache. (Not Clear Data — that wipes your settings.) This takes ten seconds and fixes a shocking number of problems.

Still stuck? Uninstall and reinstall. It’s annoying, but it gives you a completely clean install, and login problems rarely survive it.

4. The dual-SIM trap

This one catches people every day. If your phone has two SIMs, the app usually wants to verify using the Telenor SIM — and sometimes it picks the wrong one. If you have Telenor as your second SIM, temporarily make it the default for mobile data and SMS before logging in, then switch back afterwards. Five minutes of inconvenience, done.

While you’re at it, turn off any VPN. VPNs are great for privacy, but they can confuse the app’s location checks and cause logins to silently fail.

5. Stuck on the “verifying” screen forever

You got the OTP, you typed it in, and now the spinner just… spins. This is almost always a network hiccup. Switch from WiFi to mobile data, or the other way around, and try logging in fresh. The app just needs one clean connection to finish verification.

If the spinner survives a network switch, force-close the app completely (swipe it away from recent apps) and open it again. Don’t just tap back and forth — actually close it.

6. When nothing works, don’t suffer quietly

If you’ve tried everything above and the app still won’t let you in, there are two sensible next steps.

First, check whether it’s even your problem. Ask a friend with Telenor to try logging in. If they can’t either, the app’s servers are probably down, and no amount of cache-clearing will fix that. Wait an hour and try again.

Second, reinstall once more on a clean slate, or try logging in on a different phone. If it works on another device, the problem is something specific to your phone — usually an aggressive battery-saver killing the app in the background. Check that My Telenor App is exempt from battery optimization in your settings.

Why bother? Because the app is worth it

Here’s the honest truth: the login is the hardest part of this app. Once you’re in, it’s genuinely useful — you can check your remaining MBs in two taps, convert your coins into free MBs when you collect enough, and grab daily quiz rewards without hunting for codes anywhere. All of that is locked behind a login that, once working, takes seconds.

So don’t let a stuck OTP win. Work through the list above — start with the simple stuff, give the OTP time, keep the app updated — and you’ll be in. Aur phir quiz rewards bhi aapke. Daily ka quiz bhi mat bhoolna: the daily Telenor quiz at telenortodayquiz.com runs fresh questions every day with real MB prizes on the line.
